Request Summary: NHS Budget and Area of Spend
Request Category: Companies
Question Number 1: With the recent announcement of the Labour Government’s Budget, which includes a £22.6bn increase for NHS day-to-day operations, I would appreciate your assistance in understanding the specific allocation of these funds. Could you please provide a detailed breakdown of how your plans to distribute this funding, particularly in the following areas: 1. Non-Clinical Staffing: What portion of the funds is designated for non-clinical staffing roles?
Answer To Question 1: The distribution of this additional funding has yet to be announced.
Question Number 2: Clinical Staffing by Specialty: How are funds allocated for clinical staffing across various specialties?
Answer To Question 2: The financial plan for the organisation is drawn up following consultation between managers, clinicians and corporate staff from across the Trust.
Question Number 3: Waiting List’s: Which area of waiting list’s are your trust priority?
Answer To Question 3: The 2024/25 priorities and operational planning guidance from NHS England provided to all trusts set an expectation that Trusts focus on improving performance against the core cancer and diagnostic standards and reduce elective long waits. At the point of any additional funding being awarded the Trust would review waiting lists and prioritise areas with the longest waits. Our access policy states that we treat patients in the order of clinical priority and then by longest wait. As at the end of November 24 the specialties with the highest numbers of patients waiting over 52 weeks for treatment at 91Ó°ÊÓ Hospital are Plastic Surgery, Oral Surgery, and Dermatology.
