All items brought into a ward or department should be declared to staff on admission and be added to the patient’s property list. Property lists should be updated in the event that the patient moves to another area of the hospital or when items are taken home or additional items are brough in.ÌýÌýÌý

If any items that have been declared go missing, please in the first instance contact the ward/department the item was lost on to see if it can be located. If the item is unable to be located, please contact the PALS department. PALS hold lost property and record missing items. Lost property has the following retention periods:Ìý

Found items will be stored safely for at least 3 months.Ìý
